Marinel de Jesus

Marinel is a full-time global mountain nomad who left her career as a civil rights lawyer in Washington D.C. to pursue her passion for trekking and the outdoors. She writes for several outdoor and travel magazines – Alpinist, Fodors, Outside, Huffpost, Adventure Journal, Backpacker Magazine – and has been featured in Outside Magazine, Gear Junkie, Backpacker Magazine, Atlas Obscura, ISPO (among many others) for her work in advocating for women, indigenous communities and workforce equity in the outdoor and tourism industries. Marinel's life as a mountain nomad has also been featured on CBS' “Tamron Hall Show”, HGTV's “House Hunters International” and “Second Act” mini-documentary series. She is the founder of the award-winning travel platform Brown Gal Trekker and Equity Global Treks, an equity-focused tourism social enterprise.
