Jake's Weekly Flow #32

Weekly Flow #32 - August 12th, 2023

Dear, Humanist

Welcome to my weekly flow of news, events, insightful perspectives, and impactful stories aimed at creating positive change in your life and the lives you touch, at home and on the road.

My curious mind, intuitive soul, and big heart, along with some personal connections and crushes on extraordinary humans have put me in a position to receive an abundance of practical information, exciting innovation, and profound wisdom, usually travel-related, that has flowed to me, and now, on to you. Before you scan, take a breath, tune in, open up to the flow, and find your glow.

  • The underestimated power of intention, it is at core of our foundational framework at the TTC. Highly recommend this reading and integrating the knowledge into your own travel practice. The Transformative Influence of Intentions: Unleashing Your Potential - by Celeste Hedera

  • Just about every morning I sit in my hot tub in my Seattle neighborhood, read and talk to the crows and squirrels, as do my dogs. This is a fascinating glimpse into crows, jays, and ravens, their lives, their mates, and their funerals.  And my oh my, are they smart! The Secret Life of Urban Crows … and why Seattle may be the Corvid Capital of the World.

  • Remember What It Was Like to Travel Pre-Smartphone? “As a member of Gen Z, I’ve always had a device. I asked my mom and others to tell me about how they went on adventures without one.” By Hannah Doctor-Loeb

  • Is it possible to travel without ruining the environment? - By Kurt Johnson

  • When the Earth Started to Sing - “This sonic journey written and narrated by David G. Haskell brings us to the beginning of sound and song on planet Earth.” We recommend that you listen with good headphones if you can. Let your ears experience, explore, and enjoy in an open-ended way.

And now a Call for Support for our dear friends in Slovenia. For those that know us well, The Transformational Travel Council had our annual gathering, Transcend, in Slovenia in October of 2022. We were blown away by the scenic beauty, but left speechless by the warm, generous, kind, and conscious group of Slovenians that welcomed us to their home and spent 4 days transcending together! And with our Director of Biz Dev living there, it is very much the European HQ of the TTC.

Sadly, last week, Slovenia was hit by severe flooding. My friend, Ursula Kordis of Wanderlust, sent us this in hopes we could share with our heart centered and caring community.  “In the middle of the peak tourist season, for which we had been preparing all year, the water flooded our premises. The Herbal House is full of mud, the warehouse with Baba Vita drinks and herbs are destroyed, the houses we live in were flooded. Like many others, we have suffered a lot of material damage, but we are also grateful to have survived this incredible rampage of nature safely. This year's tourist season and our supplies are gone, we will have to start again. We never thought that after all this time we would have to start over. That's why we are asking for your help. We will be grateful for any share of the post and financial support. That is immensely needed at this time to restart.”

WE INVITE YOU TO OPEN YOUR HEART AND SHARE ENERGETIC AND/OR ECONOMIC SUPPORT. HERE IS HOW TO DONATE?
