URGENT ITEMS. START HERE

These items should be completed immediately after your register for the event. If you have already done these you can ignore this section.

1. Complete the booking form ASAP. We must receive your booking form in order to fully complete your registration.

2. Complete travel plan shared google doc to help arrange pre/post travel and activities, coordinate possible shared travel arrangements, as well as help us calculate our carbon footprint.

PERSONAL PRE-TRAVEL INFORMATION

1. COVID POLICY: All participants are asked to test negative within 48 hours of attending the conference. You are not required to test during or after the conference. You may use whichever test is available to you, and you don't have to submit your results to us. If you test positive for COVID during this trip you'll have to make your own arrangements and Transcend is not responsible for any extra expenses or support in this regard. If you are in a shared room, you'll be separated accordingly.

Please check our Covid and Booking Policy here.

2. VISAS: It is your responsibility to make your travel arrangements to get to Slovenia as well as adhering to travel conditions such as visas, COVID testing and any other entry/exit requirements.

3. TRAVEL INSURANCE: Don’t forget to purchase comprehensive travel insurance which should cover the activities you plan to undertake and have adequate cover for travel delay, cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses and your personal belongings. Your policy should include coverage for any medical or quarantine claim due to Coronavirus and trip cancellation due to you falling ill with Coronavirus and being unable to travel or being required to self-isolate.

4. Slovenia is a pioneer in the field of strategic sustainable tourism development on a national level. Over a hundred Slovenian destinations and tourism service providers have the Slovenia Green label, which reflects their sustainable approach and responsible behavior towards the environment. We ask that you approach your own travel thoughtfully and consciously.

The TTC will be doing the same. We will not be printing any materials for the event, and we will be calculating and offsetting the event's and all travelers' overall carbon footprint. The venue for Transcend was chosen with the concepts and principles of the TTC in mind. Hotel Plesniks eco-certificate and sustainability mission can be read here.

WEATHER AND PACKING

1. October is the wettest month of the year in Slovenia so plan to bring a rainproof jacket. Average temperatures in Ljubljana in early October are mild and range from an average low of 46 to a high of 63 degrees F (8-18C), but those temperatures can be several degrees lower in the Logar Valley (35-53F, 2-12C). Please note that these are averages and there can be significant variability given the current climate crisis.

2. Because we will be in a remote area on farms and trails, plan on appropriate footwear.

3. Dress code: Causal/Come as You Are. No business casual/formal required.

4. Packing tips: There is a sauna and pool at the hotel, and we will offer yoga, light biking and hiking, so please bring clothing appropriate for adventures and other activities as desired. Sunscreen, hat, umbrella, bathing suit, jacket, hat, gloves and layers for cooler temperatures, ear plugs/eye mask, etc.

5. Please bring your own water bottle. Please be conscious of any products that might not be biodegradable or may otherwise create waste in the valley.

6. The hotel has basic items available if you forgot and there is a small village about a 10 minute drive away should you need to purchase items.
