A global network of tourism professionals advancing the field of transformative and regenerative experience design

The TTC Community

The Transformational Travel Council is more than an education platform. It is a community of practice. 200+ transformative experience leaders across 40+ countries who share a commitment to designing experiences that serve the people who take them, the communities that host them, and the living systems that sustain both.

What holds this community together is not a shared credential. It is a shared commitment to showing up fully for this work, to challenging each other's thinking honestly, and to holding each other accountable to the standards we teach.

What Membership Means

Membership is participation in field-building work and public benefit. The community of practitioners advancing transformative experience design and regenerative practice is not built from the top down. It is built by the practitioners doing the work, learning from each other, contributing to research, holding standards, and making the field more accessible to those who come next.

The tourism industry is full of professionals who sense that their work could mean more: for the people they serve, for the communities they operate within, and for the places that make it all possible. TTC membership is where that instinct meets methodology.

At TTC, transformation is the methodology. Regeneration is the mindset. And this community is where practitioners across destinations, hospitality, tour operations, wellness, guiding, and facilitation come together to sharpen their practice, challenge each other's thinking, and lead the shift toward a more human-centered industry.

This is not a newsletter subscription. It is a seat at the table with 200+ practitioners across 40+ countries who are doing this work every day.

The Six Pillars of Membership

Pillar 01: The Practitioner Community

At the foundation: real-time peer exchange with practitioners across 40+ countries. This is where the field finds each other, troubleshoots together, and builds the relationships that advance the work.

  • Dedicated WhatsApp community for peer exchange and real-time conversation

  • Monthly Coffee + Connect gatherings for members

  • Member-led Spark Talks where practitioners share their applied work

  • Live events and ongoing opportunities to build relationships with practitioners in the field

Pillar 02: Education and Field-Building Learning

Members access educational programs, frameworks, and resources that ground transformative practice in applied learning and academic rigor.

  • 25% off all paid TTC programs

  • 15% off University of South Carolina Certified Transformative Tourism Programs

  • Free access to Level 100 and 200 programming including Foundations Sessions, Spark Talks, and Industry Labs

  • Programs developed in partnership with the University of South Carolina

  • The Transformational Travel Journal as a practitioner resource

  • Priority access to new offerings

Membership is structured around six pillars that reflect what the community needs to thrive and what each member contributes to and benefits from.

Pillar 03: Accreditation and Standards

Accreditation is how the field articulates what authentic practice looks like. Members participate in a pathway grounded in applied work and ongoing learning, not seat time.

  • Membership is the prerequisite for accreditation

  • Accreditation pathway grounded in applied practice within the TTC/TTI ecosystem

  • Portfolio of demonstrated work as the foundation of credentialing

  • Peer review and standards held by the community of practitioners

Pillar 04: Field Knowledge and Research Access

Members access the research and field knowledge that shapes transformative practice. The State of the Industry Report, the Journal, and ongoing field inquiry are part of being a member of the community.

  • Opportunity to contribute as a case study, survey participant, or peer reviewer

  • Member-facilitated working groups on emerging questions in the field

  • Citation and recognition for member contributions to publications and research

  • Access to the State of the Industry Report and ongoing research

Pillar 05: Equitable Access

The community is richer when practitioners from any context can participate. Sliding-scale pricing and equitable access are how that becomes real, not aspirational. This pillar is administered through the Transformational Travel Institute (TTI), our 501(c)(3) partner organization.

  • Equitable pricing application for students and practitioners in resource-constrained contexts

  • A global community spanning 40+ countries with diverse contexts and applications

  • Learning alongside peers operating in vastly different resource and cultural environments

Pillar 06: Connection Across the Field

TTC sits within an ecosystem working toward transformative and regenerative experience design. Members are connected to the institutions, researchers, and partners advancing the field.

  • Affiliation with the Transformational Travel Institute (TTI), our 501(c)(3) organization, advancing the public benefit of travel through equitable access, research, field building, and community stewardship

  • Engagement with partner organizations and academic affiliates, including the University of South Carolina and Dr. Suzy Ross

  • Access to vetted or co-created programming, live events, and networking opportunities with TTC partners and affiliates

  • Connection to the broader movement shaping the future of the visitor economy

  • Member Directory profile on the TTC website, opportunity to lead Spark Talks, newsletter features, social shares, and discounted marketing opportunities to our 18,000+ contacts

What We Strive For

The education and framework they use to enlighten about transformational travel literally broke my mind and heart in the best way possible.

The global community of likeminded people who truly want to consider the people, the environment, and ecosystems as they travel, to not just reduce our footprints but to participate in regeneration for all involved.

The empowerment! Helping me see that I, yes, this party of one, can make a tremendous impact and create space for transformation.
