Alex Crevar works with destinations to reclaim their local narratives and develop responsibly aware travel products. For more than 20 years, Crevar has worked as a travel journalist and media consultant for international projects. He is a regular contributor to The New York Times, National Geographic Travel, and Lonely Planet. Over the last decade, Crevar has also worked to merge two concepts: responsible tourism and travel journalism. He helped develop the Via Dinarica hiking trail, which traverses eight countries in the Western Balkans region and acts as a cultural corridor across Southeastern Europe. Crevar regularly advises tourism organizations, serves as a guest lecturer at universities, and teaches pro bono travel journalism workshops to writers in developing destinations.
