During the month I spend traveling through Mongolia with New Milestone Tours, I was impressed by the diversity and richness of the scenes, its magical atmospheres, history and heritage, culture and traditions. I wanted to discover the real nomadic lifestyle outside the tourist trail and wanted to live their everyday life. This is exactly what New Milestone Tours was able to organize and it was a life changing experience.

We’ve always been experience chasers, since Ana & I (Juan) met we always talked about how much we love to travel, how much there’s to see in the world, and how little time we feel there’s in people’s lives to explore all it has to offer. Which is why we decided to make our passion our life’s purpose, we decided to take what we love most, and transform it into what we do as a living. 

After 7 years working as Brand Manager in a big multinational I decided to quit my job in my hometown Barcelona (Spain) and embark into a one-way ticket trip to South America. Few people understood my decision, not even my family, but I was absorbed by routine and my intuition told me that life had to be more intense and exciting out there.

The picture above is of a Roman warrior.  OK, a blonde warrior with a delightful scarf, extremely comfortable walking shoes (one who would enjoy a glass of wine and a nice conversation over a spar any day) but nonetheless a Roman fucking warrior.  On a side note, I debated using the F word in the last sentence, but being a modern-day Roman warrior and all, I decided it was necessary.

It all began in 2015, when the first eco-beach resort in the Azores opened on a piece of land right beside Santa Bárbara beach. The project was not just another hotel; it was the realisation of an old dream held by two friends, Rodrigo Herédia and João Reis, who first met on the island of São Miguel, home to the Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach Resort.
