About Not Your Average American, LLC

Not Your Average American, LLC works with business clients to design their customer journey from first contact to completion of their trip and everything in between.

We envision a world where tourism offers local communities fair wages, healthy lifestyles, and autonomy in decision-making while protecting natural resources and pristine environments for future generations. To accomplish this vision, we strongly identify with regenerative tourism practices that include the voices of all stakeholders.

In 2023, we expanded our offerings to include web hosting and website management to give community tourism operators and other tourism providers an affordable option with a company that understands their needs. This personality-based quiz is a simple way of learning a little more about our readers in order to better advise them on their travel choices, be it planning an itinerary or choosing a tour with one of our partners. Also, we can replicate this quiz for our business clients, using different destinations. Reader responses result in one of four personality types based on Bennett & Haupert’s Hierarchy of Transformational Travel: bubble travelers, idealized experience seekers, seasoned travelers, and complete immersion. With information about a client's comfort level with travel in general, we can more readily offer new experiences that increase a client's chance of having a transformational trip in the future. Also, I designed the quiz to be fun to take, offering tidbits of information that intrigue the quiz taker and make them more likely to want to learn more. While not transformational in itself, it opens the door to having those conversations that can lead to transformational experiences in the future.
