Write your own Travel Story

We're proud to offer you The Transformational Travel Journal.

This unique journal was thoughtfully written, based on the rigorous multi-disciplinary study, to empower travelers with accessible tools and practices that cultivate more meaningful travel. Based on ancient wisdom, mythology, and contemporary science, it is more than a journal, it is an insightful guide to exploring the world, and your own backyard, more mindfully. You'll be guided into a deeper connection with yourself, your companions, and with others, and challenged to find more ample time and space to reflect on experiences, meaning-make, and thereby, you'll be fostering a more intentional, virtuous, and heart-centric life and contributing to a more ethical, empathetic, equitable, and ecological world.

The Transformational Travel Journal is designed as a guide to show us how to explore the world (and our backyard) more mindfully, reflect on experiences with a more meaningful perspective, connect with others more intimately, and thereby, foster a more intentional and purpose-driven life. As expressed by Phil Cousineau, “If we prepare our imagination as carefully as we pack our bags, then we will experience, learn, remember far more.”

From the Foreword, written by Phil Cousineau, author, “The Art of the Pilgrimage”

“The dirty secret of travel is that so many go so far to feel so little. It does not have to be this way. We can learn to be better, more responsible, more soulful travelers.”

More About The Journal

What is the Transformational Travel Journal?

This book is a guide to discovering the full potential of your journey by helping you harness the power of travel to create personal growth and make a positive impact in the world. The guide is presented as a journal, a travel companion in which to capture thoughts, ideas, and memories, and to create your story.

Is this book for you?

Yes, if you are curious about what you may discover about yourself, others, and the world through travel. Yes, if you want not only to discover, but to translate those discoveries into positive change, for yourself, others, and the world. Yes, if you are actively searching for something more or merely sensing that there’s something you’re missing. Whether you’re looking for big changes or minor corrections in course, whether you are new to travel or a seasoned adventurer, this book will add value to your journey. If you are interested in maximizing your travel experiences – and the fact that you’ve picked up this book and read this far is a pretty good sign – this book is for you.

How does it work?

Through reading and writing, the journal will help you explore internally as well as externally, setting the stage to form connections that will guide and inspire you in making the changes you want to see in yourself and the world.

Why is it important?

Globally, with booming numbers of travelers and itineraries, where you go, how you get there, what you do there, whom you interact with, how you treat the environment, and all the rest of your travel choices have consequences. Individually, adventure calls, and it’s vital that you recognize it as the rare opportunity it is to step outside your normal life and grow, learn, connect, and be a force for good. The decisions you make can keep you at arm’s length from yourself and your destination, leaving you unaffected despite the time, money, and effort spent. Or they can lead you toward profound experiences and enduring insights. This book, The Transformational Travel Journal, will help you make the choices that will define the nature of your journey, its role in your life, and ultimately its impact on us all.

To move allows us to leave home for the open road, where we can exult in the pleasure of going somewhere. But to become a savvy traveler means we need to move more than just our feet. We need to move our minds and our hearts if we are to have more than superficial encounters with other cultures. In this sense, movement, in all its myriad meanings, is one of the keys to transformational travel, which requires a shift from passive to active ways of engaging with the world. No deep movement, no deep change; no joy; no consciousness of the awe and wonder.
— Excerpt from the Foreword by Phil Cousineau
