Elisa Spampinato

Sicilian London-based community connector and storyteller, Elisa uses her ethnographic approach to guarantee the visibility of indigenous and traditional communities’ untold stories and perspectives, providing tools and training to support their self-empowerment growth through responsible travel. She started getting involved with local communities and tourism in Brazil (where she studied and worked for years) through sustainable development projects focused on social innovation and youth engagement. She has provided guidance to Community-Based Tourism projects and local tour operators in Africa (Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia), Europe (UK, Germany, Italy), Chile, Peru, Cape Verde, Papua New Guinea, and Maldives. Elisa regularly delivers virtual and in-person workshops in several languages and serves as a consultant for storytelling and ethical marketing, creating innovation in the travel sector.
