A Better Tourism

We improve lives and biodiversity by focusing on the role of intermediaries and destinations in shaping the tourism and travel experience. This involves initiatives such as designing tourism experiences that foster personal growth and development, as well as initiatives that promote sustainable tourism practices and mindful engagement.

The goal is to create tourism experiences that are both transformative for the individual traveler and resident and regenerative for the host destination.

Destination Transformation is about much more than learning new skills and gaining new knowledge. It is about feeling and experiencing. Not only will you explore amazing content from industry experts, but you will go on a Transformational Journey yourself.

Section 1: Where I Am

Maria Jose Andrade

Take an introspective exploration of who we are as people and as professionals. Understanding how who we are and how we behave creates pathways for our clients to find Transformation in their travel with us.

Section 2: Why I Go

Dive deeply into your “why” that drives your work and the principles and practices that influence your de- signs. Explore deeply how to guide your travelers in discovering their own “why” for their travel and how that can help inform your designs.

Section 3: How I Plan & Prepare

In Transformational Travel Design what we do to lay the foundations for our creations is equally as import- ant as what we create. Explore the client journey and discover how you can best equip your travelers for Transformation.

Section 4: How I Go

Self. Others. Systems & Nature. Designing experiences toward Transformation is all about deepening connections to these three relationships. In this section, we will explore how to do that.

Section 5: How I Return

If Transformational Travel is, at its core, about creating positive change for self, others, and the world around us then what the traveler does once they return home is a key part of the journey. Often over- looked but immensely powerful, how we guide travelers toward integration and positive change can define our work.
