The Bakari Foundation

Honoring the life of Bakari Henderson, The Bakari Foundation (“TBF”) embraces Bakari's ideals of traveling the world, loving all people, and following his dreams to uplift others.
The foundation provides healing, peace, and clarity to families in mourning by offering transformative travel experiences, healing retreats, and other services to families who have lost loved ones at the hands of another. These families are selected through our online application process.

In addition, the COVID-19 crisis is causing compounded grief, fear, and isolation for these vulnerable, fragile individuals and as a result, TBF is also offering customized video and telephonic crisis counseling designed to augment each family's grief counseling plan, during this unprecedented period.

Bakari was also a trailblazing entrepreneur, developing plans for a clothing line at the age of 13 that was poised for success. TBF embraces his dreams through our Emerging Leaders program including civic education, mentoring, and leadership development opportunities for youth.
