My curious mind, intuitive soul, and big heart, along with some personal connections and crushes on extraordinary humans have put me in a position to receive an abundance of practical information, exciting innovation, and deep wisdom, usually travel-related, that has flowed to me, and now, on to you. • I’ve so proud to see TTC Ally, Sam Keller, Founder of Working Without Borders, being spotlighted on CNBC. If you read these weekly flows, you know how much I believe in getting kids and families out traveling in an intentional, mindful, and connected way. Sam and I have had some great calls over the last couple of years and I’m so glad that this will help families use travel as a tool for learning, stretching, and growing individually and as a unit. Batter up! I LOVE baseball and Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, means baseball is back! I tell you, there’s something about this game, it’s soul stirring, captivating, and perfect. So much of my life revolves around baseball, I grew up with it .. my grandfather taught me to read a box score in the daily newspaper, my dad, well, he is and always will be my coach, in baseball and life. and one of my mentors, Phil Cousineau, the author of “The Art of the Pilgrimage,” which inspired me to start the TTC, can’t go 10 minutes without a sly nod to baseball and its myths. He and I met at a SF Giants game 4 years ago and it was like my own private “Field of Dreams” moment to sit above the 3rd base dugout, enjoy a hot dog and beer, and riff on baseball, life, and travel. We finished that night at 3 am, sipping Glenlivet, just like he used to do with his mentor, Joseph Campbell. Whoa! Last week, there were winter storms all over North America, but my family and I were very lucky to be soaking up the sun, blue skies, smelling the freshly cut grass, and the listening to the beautiful crack of a bat at Seattle Mariners Spring Training in Arizona.

And then last night, my son Quinn found out that he made his high school ball club! I tried really hard not to force baseball on him, definitely guilty of some gentle prodding, but I truly believe that baseball made its way to him. But that’s baseball, once it gets you, it never lets go. And Quinn, he works everyday at realizing his dream of “making it to the show,” someday, it gives him purpose, baseball is life. Congrats, buddy, one step closer and I’m so proud of you, but more importantly, I hope you’re proud of yourself.

The Pitcher

His art is eccentricity, his aim

How not to hit the mark he seems to aim at,

His passion how to avoid the obvious,

His technique how to vary the avoidance.

The others throw to be comprehended. He

Throws to be a moment misunderstood.

Yet not too much. Not errant, arrant, wild,

But every seeming aberration willed.

Not to, yet still, still to communicate

Making the batter understand too late.
